2017 will be a monumental year for digital advertising. It is forecasted that the total digital ad spend will trump total TV ad spend for the first time in history. Below is a breakdown of total ad spend by media channel. Needless to say, it is a huge milestone.

Total digital ad spend will equal $77.37 billion dollars (38.4% of total ad spend). TV spend will come in at $72.01 billion, still taking a good piece of the pie at 35.8% of total media ad spend.

TV’s share of ad spend will dip under one-third of total spend in the next four years. This can be contributed to many things but the most important is mobile.
