Mark Hurd is CEO of Oracle Corporation and a member of the Oracle Board of Directors. He joined Oracle as president in 2010 and was named CEO in 2014, along with Safra Catz.
Mark Hurd facilitates corporate direction at Oracle, supporting efforts in corporate strategy, leadership and innovation. According to Hurd, Oracle’s mission is to help customers innovate and save money through the use of technology.
Mark Hurd was named one of Fortune Magazine’s 25 Most Powerful People in Business in 2007. He was recognized by Barron’s in its Best CEOs lists and has been named multiple times by Business 2.0 magazine as one of the 50 Who Matter Now. In 2008, The San Francisco Chronicle honored him as CEO of the Year.
Mark Hurd is a Baylor University graduate, which he attended on a tennis scholarship. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Baylor in 1979. He continues to support Baylor’s tennis program by providing philanthropic donations to upgrade and renovate facilities in the Hurd Tennis Building, which is part of the Hurd Tennis Center. Hurd currently serves on the Baylor Board of Regents, where he is vice chair of the Finance and Facilities Committee. In 2012, Hurd was honored by Baylor with the 2012-2013 the Baylor Legacy Award.
